The Future Of This Substack
I've finally figured it out
I’ve honestly been unsure what direction to take with this Substack.
Initially, I thought I’d provide a place for people to subscribe and get sneak peeks at my works in progress. However, that option is already available on my Ream page.

I also considered turning this into a place to combat the life-destroying messages inflicted by the multi-billion dollar diet industry and all too many members of the medical community. However, I’ve been doing that for years over at the Crazy Creatives Cheerleading Camp.

Plus, you can get the real down-low on the harms of diet culture from Ragen Chastain, who delves deeper into the science and statistics than I ever could.
I thought I might use this page to share snippets from my and other people’s stories. However, my long-established Readers Roost blog already handles those functions.
I thought I might use this Substack as a monthly catch-all newsletter for updates. However, it’s easier to provide updates via my Tumblr.

I considered abandoning this stack but realized it still has a potential audience.
My niche for this substack is my fellow hybrid and indie authors.

Most of the posts I publish here will be free for the public. There may be rare subscriber-only posts. These will be sneak peeks of any chapters I’m working on if I decide to publish a how-to book on the writing craft. Otherwise, it’s a free-for-all. Most of the monetization for this blog will come from sponsored posts.
